20 Gift Ideas for the Traveler in Your Life
Gadgets & Gizmos aplenty! Yes, it is the holiday season and if you’re struggling to figure out what to gift some friends or family, look no further. I have compiled a list of 20 Gift Ideas for the Traveler in Your Life! These are items that I’ve either wished I had in any given situation or items that I definitely own & swear by and of course, some of them are just fun and adorable travel accessories that can make great stocking stuffers too!
Battery pack
A battery pack or two is something I can never use enough. I rarely leave my house without it at this point in my life. I’ve charged not just my cell phone but my camera batteries, GoPro batteries, my headphones and probably a million other things.
Kindle
I am always reading, I love it and even before I started traveling full time, I had a stack of books by my bed, on my coffee table and a bookshelf to boot. I love having all my books in one location and I never feel guilty for adding a few extra books to my virtual bookshelf to read at a later date. A kindle is a great gift for just about anyone who loves to read regardless of the types of books!
Laptop Case
Sometimes we just need a little extra flair in our life, lol. I get compliments on my laptop case quite often and I have had it for a long time. It’s always fun to look at and a great reminder of why I love what I do, travel! I did recently notice there were some more colorful world map laptop cases so I might actually have to go check those out too!
Books
If your traveler already has everything they need or really can’t add extra items to their bags maybe consider gifting them some books! Virtual books of course! I can never have enough books and there are always more I want to read. Books have probably always been my favorite gift for birthdays or holidays but maybe I’m just a nerd, lol. There are so many options and if your traveler has a kindle this is a perfect gift option for you.
Camera
I know, I know! Everyone has a cellphone these days but if you are looking to splurge a little on a friend or a family member for Christmas a smaller compact camera or action camera is a great gift idea. Try the Sony RX100 VII or the GoPro Hero 7
Tripod
If your traveler is into photography they might be considering a tripod, this is the best and lightest option for travel, in my opinion. It works great and fits inside my carry-on when I need it to. It’s easy to manage overall and definitely comes in handy when trying to get that perfect selfie at 7 am! lol
Aviator Jeans

Remember when we were kids and we would kid clothing for Christmas or our birthdays and it was such a bummer? lol As an adult Things are very different now and when I find a great pair of jeans that fit well, make me feel good and have actual REAL SIZED POCKETS, I kinda lose my mind over them a bit! Listen when I tell you Aviator Jeans are the bomb! They have a variety of other clothing options as well but the jeans take the cake!
Gift Cards
Sometimes it’s hard to know what would be a good gift, especially if as I said above, maybe they have everything they need or they have very limited space in their bags. A gift card really is a good go-to for just about anyone and gives them the freedom to really get what they need or maybe just treat themselves a bit.
Jewelry Organizer
Why has it taken me 30+ years and almost 2 years of full-time to travel to invest in one of these? It doesn’t have to be large and it doesn’t have to be crazy fancy but for the love of God, it is so handy. I have untangled too many necklaces in my life, broken so many pairs of valuable earrings and re-aligned earring posts and I am over it. I literally just purchased one and I couldn’t be happier about it. After all, it is the little things in life.
Peak Design Bag

Peak Design was a bit of an investment for me as I purchased the bigger backpack to carry all my expensive equipment however they have smaller more convenient bags as a smaller price point as well. These bags have so many amazing anti-theft features and they are discreet enough that you really wouldn’t be able to tell what’s in them at all. I love my backpack and wouldn’t trade it for the world. I’m even considering purchasing the sling.
Scratch Off Map of The World
Who doesn’t love a little world decor in their home? This is a fun way to keep track of where you’ve been and where you want to go next!
Headphones
Never underestimate the power of having headphones and possibly multiple pairs. While having Bluetooth headphones are amazing there are still many flights that A) Don’t allow bluetooth to be used during flights especially if they are a tiny aircraft and B) Still need normal headphones to plug into the seat if you want to watch movies on long haul flights. So it’s handy to have both and some good noise-canceling ones make it even better!
Osprey Backpack

If you know someone that is looking to go on a bit of a longer trip or simply has this packing thing down to a science Osprey Backpacks are the best bags for the job! I LOVE my Osprey 40L and I have used it on multiple trips for months on end! It is small enough to be a carry-on for most airlines and a backpack is generally always easier if you’ll be doing most of the travels by public transportation.
Lifestraw Water Bottle

This water bottle is hands down one of the coolest finds I made a couple of years ago! It has a filter in it that cleans the water so well you can drink the tap water from pretty much anywhere. Plus you reduce the use of buying plastic bottled water. Lifestraw also does so much good in regards to providing clean drinking water to hard to reach places all over the world.
Away Luggage

If you’re feeling really generous, any traveler would love you for a new suitcase or carry-on bag from Away. Their bags are light and durable and their carry-ons are the perfect size for all the flight restrictions. They also keep you looking stylish which, let’s be honest never hurts especially if you’re gonna go for that upgrade. 😉
Joby Gorillapod
Gorilla pods are super handy if you are looking for something light and versatile to take with you on a trip. They can hold most mid-sized cameras and even some DLSRs.
World Food/Snack Subscription

Especially if your traveler isn’t always on the road you can gift them a food subscription, like Try The World or Snack Crate to bring the world to them. Who doesn’t love food and snacks something like this is so much fun to receive each month with something new and exciting and probably a bit weird! Subscriptions are a great way to keep the fun alive all year long.
Fjallraven Bag

I got my Fjallraven backpack for Christmas last year and it literally goes with me everywhere! If I could have one in every color I would. It is a perfect day-pack for me as well as it has protected my camera from all sorts of elements including, sea waves, rain, hail, snow, and just the general wind and dust. I had no idea when I first got it how much I would use and love it but now I’m hooked on these bags.
Luggage Tags
A traveler can never have too many luggage tags! They are essential but they also can get lost along the way especially if you check your bag often. It can also be a great way to identify your bag against the sea of others in the baggage claim. Plus who doesn’t love to have options?
Packing Cubes
Packing cubes are such a good gift for the organized traveler. I personally prefer the ones that come in different colors so I can keep all my different items together for easy and quick pack and unpacking. The smaller ones are also really great if you are separating out toiletries or general medication for a long term trip or even my different cords and chargers for all my equipment.
On this page you’ll find some of the products I love to use when I travel. If you decide to click through and make a purchase, I will make a small commission at no additional cost to you.
