Aveiro & Costa Nova, Portugal

Aveiro, Portugal is sometimes called little Venice. The water canals that run throughout the little town are dotted with gondolas packed with people enjoying their short trip in the sun. The buildings are old and stunning, the food is delicious and it’s a perfect little place for an afternoon or day trip from Porto, Portugal. We had fun walking along the streets and tasting the yummy specialty egg desserts but of course we couldn’t come to Aveiro without visiting Costa Nova as well…

Costa Nova is famous for its striped houses and buildings! This is where you see all those lovely Instagram photos being taken of those beautiful women in their sundresses eating ice cream in front of the cutest little stripped houses. lol I may have one or two of those similar photos… how could I resist? You can walk along the board in front of all of these houses and even stop into the fish market along the way. There is also little dessert stand where you can try a specialty waffle dessert that is delicious as well!
